Throughout a 16-year career, focuses his practice in the areas of litigation, arbitration, administrative law and regulatory law. Carlos has worked in large Brazilian offices, as well as in-house counsel of multinational companies and big Brazilian conglomerates.
Carlos has a significant experience in strategic litigation cases, such as “Improbidade Administrativa” actions and arbitration disputes. More specifically, Carlos, a combative lawyer, understands firsthand how to handle the complex and sinuous judicial, administrative and arbitral brazilian proceedings, being able to evaluate and sugest the best procedural strategies and legal argumentation, helping the clients to quantify the risks envolved and to define the better ways to deal with the disputes.
As an in-house counsel of a large Brazilian group, Carlos was directly responsible for the efficient running of strategic actions, having worked at the national level, especially in the Brazilian Superior Courts (STJ and STF), and lived in Brasília (brazilian capital) for 02 (two) years.
Obtained his bachelor degree in Law from Universidade Federal de Goiás – UFG (2002), his LLM in Civil Procedural Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo/SP (2004) and LLM in Administrative Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo/SP (2011).

Through his 15 years of career, Renato worked with complex litigation, corporate law, M&A and debt restructuring. His career is divided working in big law firms and as in-house counsel of multinational companies and big Brazilian conglomerates.
He has large experience in corporate law, contracts and debt restructuring. Excellent negotiator with deep knowledge of the daily operations of big companies, able to understand the challenges of the business world, working either with the company administration or shareholders, providing advice, avoiding and solving conflicts in the decision making process.
Working as head of the Legal Department of the investment division of a large Brazilian company, was in charge, at the time, of the biggest judicial reorganization in Brazil, restructuring more than R$ 12 Million in debt, coordinating the negotiations with international creditors. He also oversaw the planning and filling of judicial reorganization process in 3 other countries, including, USA, Uruguay and BVI.
Before joining FTA, worked in law firm specialized in insolvency and restructuring.
He obtained his bachelor degree in Law from Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas – FMU (2004), his LLM in corporate law from Insper – Instituto de Pesquisa (2012) and LLM in Business Law at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law with a Certificate in Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management (2017).

and succession planning, wich has given him a multidisciplinary and specialized knowledge of subjects that involve the assets of individuals and family businesses.
Lawyer, with bachelor degree in Law from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (2010), has LLM in Family and Succession Law from Pontifice Universidade Católica – PUC/SP (2015). He has held the course of Family Business Management in the Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa – INSPER (2014), as well as several courses with national and internacional speakers in the area of Wealth Management and Corporate Governance in Family Businesses. He also serves as Member of the Board.
